Automation System
Spitz' ATM-4 Theater Automation System combines theater automation and show production in one powerful, easy to use program. ATM-4 show control software incorporates a graphic, intuitive user environment for creating and modifying multimedia presentations.

ATM-4 supports all Spitz products including motion-control of Spitz and Goto Chronos star instruments, instrument elevator control, LEDCove lighting sequences, audio and more. ATM-4's custom control screens operate many of the functions in Starry Night Dome. These virtual control panels operate realtime features in Starry Night, and allow scripting of Starry Night effects into complete planetariums shows. ATM-4 also allows users to fade, zoom and slew digital movies and stills anywhere on the dome screen during Starry Night presentations.

ATM-4 utilizes a high-speed computer for show scripting and device control. Unlike other systems that use a scripted, cue-based editor, ATM-4 uses a graphical timeline for rapid placement and cut-and-paste of show segments. ATM-4 controls the entire theater allowing precise synchronization of audio, video, multi-image, lighting and other devices in a reliable, simple fashion.
Cove Lighting
Spitz' LED Cove is a low-profile, computer controlled, cove lighting system offering bright, uniform dome lighting and optional programmable effects. Because LEDs are used as the light source, the color space is richer, providing a much broader color palette than incandescent cove lighting systems. LED Cove uses alternating red, green and blue LEDs, closely spaced to prevent irregular "scalloping" on the dome. With an average lifetime of 100,000 hours, and low power consumption, LED Cove offers superior performance and economical operation. Two versions are available:
Standard LED Cove allows the operator to adjust each color manually, or to automate the color selection using ATM-4. Independently adjusting the Red, Green and Blue LEDs creates a broad range of colors, intensities and hues on the dome. Standard LED Cove is available for domes up to 40 feet in diameter.
Intelligent LED Cove provides control of each 12-inch LED segment, allowing effects such as simulated sunrise/sunsets and dramatic chase sequences. Intelligent LED lighting is fully programmable from Spitz' ATM-4 automation system allowing complete synchronization with show presentations. Each cove effect gives full control over variables such as color, fade, intensity, etc. Intelligent effects include chase sequences, random flashing and sweep effects. In addition to standard sequences and lighting commands, customized sequences can be created and shared among users.
Biax Cove Lighting Biax lighting is a brilliant-white fluorescent system for reading, classroom activities and general room illumination. Biax lighting is available in switchable or dimmable configurations, and is only available through Spitz.
Audio System
Spitz designs and integrates sound systems for high quality, multi-channel reproduction of pre-recorded soundtracks, live music, voice and sound effects. Spitz audio systems allow simple and repeatable control of day-to-day operations and provide full-featured sound performance for dome theaters.

For small and medium-sized planetaria Spitz offers stereophonic sound systems with CD, ADAT, DAT or hard drive playback.

For large venues we offer digital 5.1 surround systems. This system uses five wide band speaker channels and one low frequency sub woofer channel with an integrated, fully digital central sound processor. The system supports inputs from theater public address microphones, hard drives, CD players, 8-channel digital decks, cassette decks, DAT cassette decks, and other audio sources. The audio system components are rack mounted in a floor-standing equipment rack or in the operator¡¯s control console.
Dome Installation
Spitz dome installation includes basering support, frame and panels. We install the primary dome support ring in its entirety, connecting the ring to the suspension chains, support columns, steel ring, or wall. We install all dome structural framing members, starting at the bottom and working toward the dome zenith, connecting the framing members to the primary dome support ring at designed locations. The panels shall be installed sequentially from either bottom to top or top to bottom, at the discretion of the dome contractor. After the installation owner will conduct the examination and testing of the completed dome.

Dome Cleaning
Spitz offers comprehensive dome cleaning services to ensure the best possible projection quality. Dust and dirt settle on the interior and exterior surfaces of a dome, compromising the optical characteristics of the screen and making seams more noticeable. Dust can rob a dome of up to 25% of its brightness.

Spitz has developed specialized cleaning procedures. Though many domes only need a vacuum cleaning, Spitz has the capability for wet washing extremely dirty or stained domes. Contact Spitz for a quotation and/or list of Dome Cleaning clients.
